Hostage Situation Part 2

12 hours gone and our demands have still not been met! This means torture. Bobbi and Mike, you were warned.

You have 24 hours...

Hostage Situation

We had a fantastic #nachocheesewedding with the lovely Bobbi and Mike this past weekend! They were the awesomesauce!

However, they made the mistake of leaving their precious clear umbrella in our car. And now we have ourselves a hostage situation.

We had no choice but to present them with a ransom note detailing our demands.

12 hours in and we are already getting antsy

Shauna + Jeremy

In honor of the upcoming Fourth of July weekend, we wanted to share Shauna + Jeremy's picnic inspired engagement session.  The couple's love for ice cream (who can blame them!) and the perfect Ohio Summer day made for these beautiful vintage images by Connection Photography.

This shoot is pouring with flawless details.  From the red and white picnic cloth, the fitting book titles,  scrumptious cupcakes and oh-so perfect sunlight, this session captures Shauna + Jeremy's timeless love for each other.  Oh, and I just can't get enough of the over-sized letters in the field... precious.

Special thanks to Joseph of Connections Photography for sending these over!  Best of luck to the happy couple for a wonderful marriage and stress-free engagement!

Daytona Wedding: Lauren and James Preview

We loved working with the talented Garrett Nudd for Lauren and James's wedding in the fabulous Daytona Beach! It was a beautiful wedding and the funnest sparkler exit ever! Here is a little preview of it..

More to come!

Red Shirt Re-Do

Happy Wednesday Everyone.
I was off today which enabled me to work on a few things that I have been putting off.   To start with, my Son had this beautiful Red Polo Shirt, that he had out grown and I re-made it into a peek a boo shoulder, shirt.  Perfect for the Fourth of July.  This was not super easy , but it wasn't super hard either. Everything went relatively  smoothly, after I figured out how I wanted to re-size it.

Tutorial
Things you need
1. Old shirt, not to big
2. Sewing machine
3. Scissors
4. Thread same color as your shirt
5. Large Safety Pins
6.Chalk

1. I cut out two triangles at the shoulder, once you cut one, use that as a template  for the other side. Be careful not to cut it too big.

2. Turn your shirt inside out .Grab one of the shirts  that fits you perfect. Lay that on top of your shirt and mark with chalk.

3. Pin your shirt with safety pins,  Turn your shirt to the back, see the pleat going down the middle? I pinned that down on both sides. Then try it  on to see how it fits.  If everything fits well, sew where you pinned,  I also stitched around where I cut the triangles out to keep it from fraying.

4. Roll up the sleeves and pin them or stitch them.
5. I also hemmed just the back, to make it shorter that the front.

Two more days until the long weekend!

Groomsmen: Colored Pants

I've been seeing this trend lately of colored pants for the groomsmen. It's popping up everywhere, and I gotta say, I am not loving it.

Am I the only one??

Heidi + Aaron

Recently, Raleigh photographer Carolyn Scott sent over Heidi + Aaron's April
nuptials and I just couldn't wait to post this charming Spring wedding.

The couple said 'I do' at the Raleigh Rose Garden and couldn't have selected a more beautiful ceremony location.  With the gardens in full bloom, Kellie looked stunning in her strapless gown accessorized with a sweet birdcage veil, while the maids donned apple green dresses that perfectly complimented this springtime affair.  From there, they moved the party to lovely Sheraton Raleigh Hotel where they enjoyed the rest of the evening surrounded by the Raleigh skyline.

The groom's mother and uncle were dealt the colossal task of arranging the bouquets and flower arrangements after a storm in the South delayed the shipment of the wedding flowers..
I think they did a fabulous job!

Carolyn captured the happy couple perfectly throughout the day with refreshing, vivid images.  Check out her informative blog post on the big day.  She gives great tips on location selections and the best time of day to take pictures.

I have very little time this morning but I wanted to share with you a few pictures I found.
A vintage summer.
There is just something about a grouping of three.
Such a great time warp.

Project Re-Style #25 T shirt Re-style

Welcome to MONDAY!   Project Re-Style day.
Today is  week  number 25 of my Project Re-Style challenge. Which means next week, I will be at the half way point.  WOW, I can not believe I only have 6 months left.
I have had a fantastic weekend off, recharging my batteries,  and preparing  myself  for a long work week ahead.
I want to thank all of  you so much for joining me today.
This week , because I had one last white T-shirt left,  I decided to do one more T-shirt Re-style.
This one is  a no sew, peek a boo shoulder, Tee.
Super easy and a great  addition to your summer wardrobe.

As always all the details about Project Re-Style will be at the end of this post.
Let's get started.
Tutorial
Things You Need.

1.  A White T-Shirt
2.  Scissors

Take your scissors and cut out the shoulders and the neck.
Then make 4 small cuts, like in the picture above. You might want to try the shirt on to measure where you want your  cuts.
These cuts, when you lace the material through and tie it, will make your shirt fit better.
The same goes with the back of the shirt.

And voila.
A new summer tee.
