Steal the hair from the movie "The Notebook" for your wedding

I'm always on the hunt for good hair ideas for the big day.  Mostly because I think a lot of brides are starting to look the same, all gorgeous of course, but the hair styles have become uniform.  It's like they're all making appointments at the same type of hair salon and saying "Give me 'the bride'."  I'd like to introduce the newly engaged to a few alternatives.  Behold, the twist.

I found this gem of an idea on a blog that's listed in our directory.  If you've seen the movie The Notebook, and really, what girl hasn't?  Then you've seen the sweet retro styles of Rachel McAdam's character.  Why not give it a modern spin?  Love Notes by Lauryn has the tutorial here.

Word of caution:  This is a major chick-flick based on an even girlier romance novel.  Do not be fooled into thinking this is really what your love life will be like with your husband.  That being said, future husbands should be issued this movie at the jewelry store when they buy the engagement ring and only allowed to propose after they've signed a legal agreement promising to mimic the Ryan Gosling/James Garner character to the absolute best of their ability.
Are you listed in our directory? It's free! List your blog and follow us and you could be featured in an upcoming post. Find the link at the top of our page.

Kylene + Adam's Carnival Engagement Session

Hope everyone was able to soak up the last few days of summer this weekend!
Now that cooler weather is right around the corner, I can't help but get a teensy-bit excited
that it's almost Fair season :)

I LOVE when the fair comes to town, and let's be honest...who doesn't.  I'm a big fan of the lights, cotton candy, the games and, of course, anything deep-fried (preferably Snickers or Oreos but I'm not picky).  Last year, my husband and I went to the SC State Fair in Columbia and had a fabulous time at the Boyz II Men concert (don't judge, it was a blast!).  So, to build up some anticipation for when the Fair comes rolling thru your town, we wanted to kick off this week with Kylene + Adam's fun engagement session from the talented Virginia Beach team of  Grant & Deb.

Check back tomorrow for their beautiful wedding!

Summer Blogosphere Series Final Post

For our last Blogosphere post, Green Wedding Shoes shared this DIY wedding that had so many cute details. One in particular that I just had to share are these wear your heart on your sleeve pins! They are the adorablest!!!

This display was put out at the ceremony for guests to wear. And all the groomsmen wore big hearts as their boutonnieres!
